The Boston Public Library

Even if you are not an enthusiastic reader, I think you should go to the Boston Public Library (BPL) at least once. The things you’ll experience here are not just reading. I recommend you do your homework at Bates Hall, which is located on the second floor and has a traditional atmosphere. You can get a feeling that you really are in Boston, which is a historical and college city. There are a lot of students who study hard with some thick books, so the academic environment is perfect to stimulate your motivation to study.

 

The BPL is the first free library in the United States, founded in 1848. It’s located in Copley Square, where several shopping malls and hotels are. The building, created by architect Charles Follen McKim, is a beautiful Europe style. Also, there is a wonderful courtyard which has fountains, chairs and tables. You can enjoy a cup of coffee and fresh air under the sun for a break.

 

When I have something to think about, I always go this quiet place. I feel as if I was protected by books which have been watching many people and history, and I can get a peaceful mind just like going to a church or temple.
